Delivering the Official Language Assessments in 120+ Languages

For over 30 years, LTI has been a leader in providing language proficiency assessments in over 120 languages. As the exclusive licensee and only company authorized to deliver official ACTFL assessments, LTI administers research-based, valid, and reliable assessments for a wide range of academic and professional uses and needs.

In the K-12 space, the AAPPL, ALIRA, and OPI & WPT for the Seal of Biliteracy measure learners’ progress toward proficiency in grades 3-12. ACTFL assessments help programs set and attain tangible goals for learners and help them earn credentials and certifications, such as the Seal of Biliteracy.

The AAPPL is available in 11 languages and measures all four language skills; it is the only test that assesses interpersonal listening and speaking. The ALIRA is a computer-adaptive assessment for learners of Latin to demonstrate their ability to read for comprehension a variety of Latin-language texts. The OPI & WPT for the Seal of Biliteracy is available in 24 less commonly tested languages and allows speakers of these languages in grades 11-12 to attain the Seal.

ACTFL language proficiency assessments are used by many Higher Education institutions for research as well as to place students in language classes and evaluate their proficiency at the completion of language courses. Additionally, five of ACTFL’s assessments are recommended for college credit by the American Council on Education (ACE).

Leading Your International School, (the first in a series of planned guidance books for international schools and their leaders) offers leaders a unique insight into the world of international education and practical steps to make your leadership count. Based on the collaborative efforts of its Author André Double, the book features first-hand accounts of how school visions are designed agreed-upon and implemented; how Human Resource Management plays a key role in our agile schools; and what exactly a school culture is and how to build one.

Unlike other books, the Authors actively encourage members of the ECIS community to shape its writing and their future content. They are keen to hear from any ECIS members who have a passion for educational leadership and want to help make our schools more inclusive and beacons of opportunity for those who serve and learn in them.
Each week they publish a blog on international schools and their leadership.

They encourage the blogs to reflect one of the books 9 chapters:

• Vision, Values and Virtues – What we need, and why we need it.
